Bernina Express

Bernina Express

The Bernina Express is seen as one of the most spectacular way to cross the Alps because the Albula line and the Bernina line connect Northern Europe to Southern Europe. The Bernina Express is interesting as its route offers its passengers breathtaking views from the Swiss Alps glaciers to the Italian palms. The train departs from Chur and ascends to Engadine before making its way behind the Bernina Hospiz (about 2253 meters 7400 feet above sea level) through the Poschiavo Valley into Valtellina in Italy. One of the first points of interest that passengers can notice is the 65-metre-high Landwasse viaduct near Filisur.
