Montreux

When staying in Montreux region, the terraced vineyards of Lavaux should not be missed. They had been added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007 and the site offers wonderful sceneries.

Montreux belongs to the Swiss Riviera, situated in the French speaking part of Switzerland, between the Alps and on the shore of the Lake Geneva (also named lake Leman). Due to its mild climate, Mediterranean plants grow all over the city. Tourism in the city started during the 19th century and the city is now well known all over the world.
