What to see at Mount Pilatus
Once you reach the summit (Pilatus Kulm, 2132 m 7000 feet ), you will be able to enjoy a breathtaking view above the clouds and admire mountains and peaks but also some Swiss lakes. When weather permits it is possible to view up to 73 different peaks!
Myths and legends
Many myths and legends were told about Mount Pilatus. One such tale speaks of a dragon living in the mountain which caused all catastrophes and bad weather. Some say the body and the soul of Pontius Pilate haunts the mountain and that is where it gets its name.
Another way
From Lucerne you can take a lovely boat cruise from the city to the cogwheel railway. You can then climb to the spectacular summit. When visiting Mount Pilatus, It may be interesting to stop at the Pilatus Rope Park where you can enjoy trails through the forest of varying degrees of difficulty.
