Provence and the South of France or Cote d’Azur are two amazing regions to visit which makes France a great destination for a honeymoon thanks to the variety of experiences you can have.

Provence is a great region that offers activities and sites for all tastes.  There are very historic with sites dating back to the times of the Romans and many beautiful towns and village.  The main towns Avignon and Arles, Aix-en-Provence  are centers of culture, art and history.  In Arles you can retrace the steps of Van Gogh who lived there and painted many scenes of the town.  Aix-en-Provence is the town of Cezanne where Van Gogh lived and worked.  You will recognize Mont Ste-Victoire close by to the town from his famous paintings.   Avignon another beautiful town of Province with its historic Palais des Papes, Popes Palace.  From 1309 to 1378 the Popes moved from Rome to Avignon.  A little known fact is that in 1378 there were actually two Popes one in Rome and one in Avignon.

The South of France and the Cote d’Azur is a spectacular coastal are with wonderful cities and scenery making for an excellent backdrop for a honeymoon.  Nice is a vibrant town with a charming historic center and wonderful seaside promenade from which to enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean sea.  Chic Cannes is just close by along the coast, is the home of the famous film festival.  Its elegant restaurants make a wonderful place to have lunch by the sea.   Monaco, which is a principality is the second smallest country in the world. But you won’t need a passport to enter it.  This quaint spot divided between the old town of Monaco and the newer town of Montecarlo,was the home of Grace Kelly when she was the Princess married to Prince Rainer.
