Saint Moritz first became known for its Spring water, 3000 years ago. People used to come here and established a village. Saint Moritz was first a Summer destination and a health destination where people were coming to cure themselves. Moreover, Saint Moritz offers to its visitors plenty of sunny days, they boast having more than 300 sunny days per year!

The two Saint Moritz

The town of Saint Moritz is spread on two different levels: the old town “Saint Moritz Dorf” and its old hotel from 1896 the Badrutt’s Palace hotel and the new town “Saint Moritz Bad” where visitors can find more recent hotels and the famous hot springs.

Sport events

Saint Moritz, with its great reputation and nice area for skiing (more than 350 kilometers of piste), had the opportunity to welcome two Olympic Winter Games in 1928 and 1948 and the World Ski Championship in 2003 Every year in March, a great cross-country skiing race takes place in Saint Moritz. This race, the Engadin Skimarathon is long of 42,2 kilometers and no less than 12000 people take part in it.

The leaning tower of Saint Moritz

Saint Moritz leaning tower became the symbol of the city. With its 33 meters high, It is the only part left from Saint Moritz church which had been demolished in 1890.

Life and events

Saint Moritz also offers a great nightlife and a nice cultural life with different events. The town has  several nightclubs and traditional or modern bars. Saint Moritz also organizes several festivals such as the Gourmet Festival, the Saint Moritz Polo Word Cup on snow or the Festival Snow and Symphony and the Festival Art and Symphony and others.
